Forensic Cleaning Services was created in 1998 after many years of planning. The company was founded by Michael Burns and Pete Scorsone, then, full time police officers who recognized that there was a need for a company to clean hazardous waste that resulted from potentially horrific incidents or unforeseen events that are traumatic for families.
Unfortunately during that time period hazardous waste companies were almost unheard of and many times the turnaround time to have a company arrive to clean took days.
Pete and Mike recognized this problem and created Forensic Cleaning Services. The company started out as a word of mouth company that was only known in the law enforcement community. The companies main focus then and still to this day is to get families back to some sort of normalcy and back inside their homes. Unforeseen deaths or unexpected incidents are traumatic and tolling on families.
Over time, insurance companies began to refer the company as well and Forensic Cleaning Services has become a preferred vendor for many insurance companies.
In 2009 Mark Reed started working with Pete and Mike and had the opportunity to purchase the company in 2014.
We have expanded what we do. Initially the company started out with only cleaning crime scenes. This involved homicides, suicides, unattended deaths, and unforeseen bio-hazardous incidents. We now also do a lot of extreme cleaning, like hoarding, bodily fluids and human feces, animal urine and feces, along with bird poop build up and complete trash-outs for apartments and houses.
In August 2020, Forensic Cleaning Services Inc. was acquired by The Steam Police, LLC. The Steam Police is owned and operated by a law enforcement family.
